If you’re looking for a quick way to get the latitude and longitude out of a placemark in Google Earth (useful for placing a Location Marker or Location Pin in DProfiler modeler, or specifying the location for a model produced by DProfiler converter), we’ve provided an easy way to accomplish this.

In Google Earth, create a new placemark and position it at the coordinates you wish to capture (i.e., corner of a site, etc…). Once you’ve closed the Add Placemark dialog, right click on the placemark and choose Copy.

In DProfiler modeler, click the toolbar button for adding a Location Marker or Location Pin and press Ctrl+V or right-click and choose Paste. This works if your cursor is in one of the textboxes on the dialog. Notice that the coordinates in the dialog are now the coordinates represented by the placemark. Click OK to place the Marker or Pin in the model that represents the spatial location of the placemark you copied to the clipboard in Google Earth.

In DProfiler converter, when you’ve copied a Google Earth placemark to the clipboard, put your cursor in one of the latitude or longitude fields and press Ctrl+V or right-click and choose Paste. Notice that the coordinates are now the coordinates represented by the placemark.
